This list includes many of the cupcake flavors we offer at New Moon in Burlington, VT. Lyndsey is constantly inventing new recipes, each extensively and enthusiastically tested by our staff! Watch for new flavors and seasonal cupcakes arriving throughout the year. Vegan and gluten free choices noted.
The Buzz (Coffee Kahlua)
Looking for a pick-me-up? Pop one, or two....maybe three of these little cakes. The combination of our cold pressed coffee cake, coffee kahlua cream filling and frosting will lift your spirits and awaken your senses.
First Kiss (Vanilla Almond)
This classic rendition of the all-American wedding cake exhibits the purity and innocence of a first kiss on a wedding day. Simple yet delicious vanilla almond cake, complimented with a light and airy frosting with just a hint of almond. For the finishing touch, a few slivered almonds. Some say it’s almost blissful.
Salty Cocoa Caramel (Chocolate Sea Salted Caramel)
“Salty Cupcakes?!” you say? ...Eh, don’t diss them until you try them. The combination of the rich cocoa cake with fluffy frosting, laced with a homemade caramel drizzle and a sprinkle of fleur de sel salt is sure to change your mind. Not convinced? Try one for yourself.
ilovelemon (Lemon)
If you haven’t picked it up from the name already, this is for all you lemon lovers out there. A zested lemon cake, filled with a burst of rich and tangy lemon curd and frosted off with lemon butter cream cheese frosting. And just in case that’s not enough to quench your lemon love, we finish it off with a sprinkle of candied lemon peel.
Pure Velvet (Velvet)
Pure Velvet is closely related to its predecessor “Red Velvet.” She just decided to go all natural and to put all that red dye 40 behind her. With a swirl of our classic cream cheese frosting topped with a fresh raspberry, she is sure to have a promising future...in your tummy.
Peanut Butter Bliss (Chocolate Peanut Butter)
ATTN all you who sneak a finger or two of your roommates’ peanut butter stash when they’re not looking. This decadent chocolate fudge cake with a peanut butter chip center and a rich and creamy peanut butter frosting should tide you over for a second and make your roommates happy.
Green Machine (Vegan Green Tea)
You could compare Green Machine to that one lady who works behind the counter at your favorite health food store – kinda weird, edgy and different, but very attractive if you engage her and give her a chance. This matcha green tea cupcake has a lemon avocado frosting. Why not give it a chance?
Coconut Ginger (Vegan)
Coconut (milk, meat & oil) Ginger (fresh & candied): simple and straight forward. A coconut ginger cake with coconut frosting, rolled in shredded coconut and sprinkled with candied ginger. Delicious simplicity.
Carrot Spice (Vegan)
This spiced carrot has more pop than most vegans know what to do with. We started with out traditional carrot cake, slimmed out the animal products, and concocted the perfect combination of spices to create the most delicious vegan carrot cupcake creation we know of.
Chocolate Walnut (Vegan)
Our dear Chocolate Walnut cupcake has been said to bring to remembrance a variety of delicious desserts: a boston cream doughnut, a sugar cookie with brownie on top, or grandmas butter cake - just to name a few. Give our rich vegan vanilla cake, glazed with chocolate and sprinkled with crushed walnuts a try, who knows what it will remind you of!
Beets Me! (Vegan)
Why would anyone ever put beets in a cupcake? Beets me! All I know is that we did and it's not only different, but it's delicious! Beets and Choclate are the two stars of this cupcake. Featuring a Chocolate Banana glaze and a sneak peak sprinkle of crushed banana chips. Try one for yourself; you might have discovered a hit!
Hazelnut Heaven (Gluten-free)
One bite and it will take you higher to a little place called hazelnut heaven. Okay maybe not heaven, but pretty close. (: It’s a chocolate & hazelnut cake perfectly paired with a hazelnut & chocolate frosting. Garnished with what else? A candied hazelnut.
Dirty Chai
Dirty Chai is a close descendant of The Buzz, I guess you could say they are kindred spirits. Don't get me wrong though, Dirty Chai's silky spiced chai frosting is very distinct. Especially when we pair it with our chocolate espresso cake. It's a killer combination creation.
Mocha Locha
Hey you, yeah you - the one who woke up this morning with one thing on your mind - a tasty 12 oz. Mocha. Oh my bad, you do EVERY morning?! Then this cupcake is for you! Number 1 (Chocolate Guinness)
Winner of our most creative cupcake contest - Number 1 is a winner at heart. Enjoy this chocolate Guiness cake and whipped Bailey's frosting. Who knows, it might even win your heart.
Lime Lemon
Why is it that Lime always gets last place? In our opinion, Lime & Lemon were created equal - and because Lemon always takes first place, we thought we would give Lime its time to shine! A light lemony cake, just for starters, filled with tangy lime curd, frosted with zesty lime frosting, and finished with candied lemon zest. Come on, it's lime time!
Berry Simple
Sometimes it's just the simple things...you know? Like our light angel food cupcake topped with a dollop of fresh, slightly sweetened whipped cream.
Eden
Come and taste of the sweet and delicious fruits - raspberries, cherries, and strawberries! This tasty trio is delicately woven throughout the cake, filling, and creamy whipped frosting! Come, have a taste of Eden.
Caribbean Carrot
A tasty twist of your mama's classic carrot cake. It all begins with a traditional carrot cake base, then it's infused with shredded pineapple and roasted walnuts.
Champagne
A champagne sponge cake topped off with a slightly sweet whipped champagne frosting and garnished with a champagne gummy. You can almost taste the bubbles!
Key Lime
The key to your little lime heart. To insure the key fits, we infuse it with pure lime oil, zest and freshly squeezed juice. To top it off, we add a swirl of our classic cream cheese frosting.
Chocolate Zucchini
That's right, a veggie cupcake. A sweet zucchini cake with a hint of cocoa and a handful of dark chocolate morsels, frosted with our classic cream cheese frosting. Satisfy your green tooth and your sweet tooth!
Minty Cocoa (Chocolate Spearmint)
Growing up, I always used to judge a restaurant by the kind of after dinner mints they had. My favorite mint just so happened to be chocolate & spearmint. Minty Cocoa is my rendition of my little childhood memory - just in cupcake form. It's a melt in your mouth chocolate cake topped with a smooth spearmint cream cheese and a sprinkle of spearmint chocolate. Feel free to be the judge...
