The Flavors
This list includes many of the cupcake flavors we offer at New Moon in Burlington, VT. Erica is constantly inventing new recipes, each extensively and enthusiastically tested by our staff! Watch for new flavors and seasonal cupcakes arriving throughout the year. Vegan and gluten free choices noted.

Salty Cocoa Caramel (Chocolate Sea Salted Caramel) 
“Salty Cupcakes?!” you say? ...Eh, don’t diss them until you try them. The combination of the rich cocoa cake with fluffy frosting, laced with a homemade caramel drizzle and a sprinkle of fleur de sel salt is sure to change your mind. Not convinced? Try one for yourself. 

The Buzz (Coffee Kahlua)
Looking for a pick-me-up? Pop one, or two....maybe three of these little cakes. The combination of our cold pressed coffee cake, coffee kahlua cream filling and cream cheese frosting will lift your spirits and awaken your senses.

First Kiss (Vanilla Almond) 
This classic rendition of the all-American wedding cake exhibits the purity and innocence of a first kiss on a wedding day. Simple yet delicious vanilla chiffon almond cake, complimented with a light and airy frosting with just a hint of almond. For the finishing touch, a few slivered almonds. Some say it’s almost blissful.

Peanut Butter Bliss (Chocolate Peanut Butter) 
ATTN all you who sneak a finger or two of your roommates’ peanut butter stash when they’re not looking. This decadent chocolate cake with creamy peanut butter frosting should tide you over for a second and make your roommates happy. 

Pure Velvet (Velvet) 
Pure Velvet is closely related to its predecessor “Red Velvet.” She just decided to go all natural and put that red dye 40 behind her. With a swirl of our classic cream cheese frosting topped with a fresh berry, she is sure to have a promising future...in your tummy. 

Chocolate (Double Chocolate) 
CELEBRATE CHOCOLATE! Dive into our decadent chocolate cake, frosted with chocolate ganache! A true ode to chocolate. Jump in, you're not too late to join the party!

ilovelemon (Lemon) 
If you haven’t picked it up from the name already, this is for all you lemon lovers out there. A zested lemon cake, filled with a burst of rich and tangy lemon curd and frosted off with lemon cream cheese frosting. And just in case that’s not enough to quench your lemon love, we finish it off with a candied lemon peel.

Key Lime (Lime)
The key to your little lime heart.  To insure the key fits, we infuse it with pure lime oil, zest and freshly squeezed juice. To top it off, we add a swirl of our classic cream cheese frosting and a candied lime peel. 

Strawberry Balsamic (Chocolate & Tangy Strawberry)
You’re probably thinking to yourself, the last thing that I would ever want in a frosting is balsamic vinegar, am I right? Surprisingly, our frosting, made from fresh strawberries with a splash of balsamic vinegar swirled on top of our signature chocolate cake filled with basamic cream is simply delightful. Slightly tangy, yet sweet. You may want to think again…  

Dark Chocolate Orange
There is something so wonderful about the unity of chocolate and orange. Taste the synthesis within our Dark Chocolate Orange cupcake. Dark chocolate cake with a hint of orange topped with freshly zested orange cream cheese frosting and a swirl of orange ganache. It’s refreshing, yet decadent all in the same bite.

Health Nut (Carob, Honey & Almond)
Embrace your "nutty-ness"! Enjoy our cane sugar-free & dairy-free carob, honey & flax cake topped with our carob, almond butter frosting sweetened with honey. Exceptional cupcakes for exceptional people!

Dirty Chai (Chocolate Espresso & Spiced Chai)
Dirty Chai is a close descendant of The Buzz, I guess you could say they are kindred spirits.  Don't get me wrong though, Dirty Chai's silky spiced chai frosting is very distinct. Especially when we pair it with our chocolate espresso cake.  It's a killer combination creation.

Mocha Locha (Chocolate Espresso)
Hey you, yeah you - the one who woke up this morning with one thing on your mind - a tasty 12 oz. Mocha.  Oh my bad, you do EVERY morning?! Then this cupcake is for you! Enjoy double the mocha madness with our rich chocolate espresso cake and our fluffy mocha mousse frosting. Get your mocha fix today!

Caramel Latte (Caramel Espresso)
Experience the union of caramel and coffee! Enjoy our rich vanilla cake with caramel core, topped off with an espresso buttercream! A combination that will keep you coming back for more.
 
Number 1 (Chocolate Guinness)
Winner of our most creative cupcake contest - Number 1 is a winner at heart. Enjoy this chocolate Guinness cake and whipped Bailey's frosting. Who knows, it might even win your heart.

Lime Lemon 
Why is it that Lime always gets last place? In our opinion, Lime & Lemon were created equal - and because Lemon always takes first place, we thought we would give Lime its time to shine! A light lemony cake, just for starters, filled with tangy lime curd, frosted with zesty lime frosting, and finished with candied lemon peel. Come on, it's lime time!

Berry Simple (Angel Food Cake)
Sometimes it's just the simple things...you know? Like our light angel food cupcake topped with a dollop of freshly, sweetened whipped cream and topped with a berry!  Berry simple, very tasty.

Eden (Rasberry, Cherry, Strawberry)
Come and taste of the sweet and delicious fruits - raspberries, cherries, and strawberries! This tasty trio is delicately woven throughout the cake, filling, and creamy whipped frosting! Come, have a taste of Eden.

Black and White (Chocolate, Vanilla)
A classic, it’s the perfect pairing of chocolate and vanilla. Vanilla beans delicately grace this cake and a little vanilla liquor adds complexity to a standard favorite. Frosted with a swirl of our rich chocolate ganache, we’re pushing the boundaries of flavor elegance.

Candied Caramel Apple (Caramel Apple Peanut)
Taking cues from a favorite fall season treat and made with local granny smith apples, this cake is lightly spiced and perfectly tart. On top is a smooth and creamy apple buttercream dipped in a caramel glaze, and gently rolled in chopped peanuts. It’s a melt-in-your-mouth combination of flavors.

Boston Crème (Custard, Chocolate)
An ode to Boston in the fall, a rich pound cake is duly filled with homemade vanilla custard. Thinly glazed with chocolate frosting ganache and a dollop of custard on top. Indulge your refined taste buds with this cupcake take on a time-honored dessert. 

Honey Roasted Almond
Fresh honey roasted almonds, a wonderful combination of salty and sweet! Our spiced honey cake has a core of honey piped into the center.  Frosted with almond buttercream and a sprinkle of fleur de sel!

Vermont Maple
The classic Vermont cupcake!  Vanilla cake topped with real Vermont maple syrup buttercream is a great way to fall into autumn! Simple and elegant!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
A great childhood memory of licking the mixer after making cookie dough inspired this recipe! Vanilla cookie cake with a chocolate chip cookie dough core topped with vanilla buttercream and shaved chocolate. A chocolate chip exclamation point tops it off!

Raspberry Lemon
Classic time-honored pairing of raspberry and lemon. Slightly tart lemon cake combined with fresh raspberry buttercream!

Minty Cocoa (Chocolate Spearmint)
Growing up, I always used to judge a restaurant by the kind of after dinner mints they had. My favorite mint just so happened to be chocolate & spearmint. Minty Cocoa is my rendition of my little childhood memory - just in cupcake form. It's a melt in your mouth chocolate cake topped with a smooth spearmint cream cheese frosting and drizzled with chocolate. Feel free to be the judge...

VEGAN CUPCAKES 

Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel (Vegan)
Chocolate cake, topped with vegan buttercream swirled with caramel and finished with sea salt 100% vegan, 101% delicious!

Green Machine (Vegan) 

You could compare Green Machine to that one lady who works behind the counter at your favorite health food store – kinda weird, edgy and different, but beautiful & becoming if you give her a chance. So come on! Try out our matcha green tea cupcake with a lemon avocado frosting. Why not give it a chance?

Coconut Ginger (Vegan)
Coconut and ginger: simple and straight forward. A coconut ginger cake with coconut frosting, rolled in shredded coconut. Delicious simplicity.

Chocolate Walnut (Vegan)
Our dear Chocolate Walnut cupcake has been said to bring to remembrance a variety of delicious desserts: a boston cream doughnut, a sugar cookie with brownie on top, or grandmas butter cake - just to name a few. Give our vegan chocolate cake with crushed walnuts, swirled with chocolate ganache a try! Who knows what it will remind you of!

Beets Me! (Vegan)
Why would anyone ever put beets in a cupcake? Beets me! All I know is that we did and it's not only different, but it's delicious! Beets and Choclate are the two stars of this cupcake. Featuring  a Chocolate Banana glaze and a sneak peak sprinkle of crushed banana chips. Try one for yourself; you might have discovered a hit!

Whether you pronounce it, (pe-con) or (pe-can), if you love pecans, this cupcake is sure to tickle your fancy! This spiced carrot cake has more pop than most vegans know what to do with. We started with our traditional carrot cake, slimmed out the animal products, and concocted the perfect combination of spices to create the most delicious vegan & gluten-free carrot cupcake creation on this side of Heaven!

Caroberry (Vegan, Gluten & Cane Sugar-Free )

In lovely fall fashion, this new vegan AND gluten-free treat is sure to make a statement. Getting creative with ingredients and without compromising texture and taste, this cake puts pumpkin on display. And the finish? A delicately whipped frosting and a dash of spices. That's right, a veggie cupcake. A sweet zucchini cake with a hint of cocoa, frosted with our classic cream cheese frosting. Satisfy your green tooth and your sweet tooth!

Harvest Apple * 
It would be a shame not to take advantage of all our local orchards to create an apple cupcake for all you locals and leaf peepers this fall. So here it is, Harvest Apple – a hearty apple spice cake topped with our classic cream cheese frosting and then drizzled with our homemade caramel sauce. Tart and sweet and ready to eat!
 

Gingerbread* (Gluten-Free)
Come reminisce your childhood memories over coffee & our Gingerbread cupcake! A ginger molasses cake topped with maple cream cheese frosting. Sure to bring you back to the good ol’ days.

Bring Me Some Figgy Pudding *

orange zest, anise & fennel seed - topped off with creamy almond frosting. So tasty there will be sugar plums dancing in your head,
guaranteed.

Peppermint Meltdown *
To be honest, in the process of making this cupcake I had a mini meltdown. (: Needless to say, it was semi-difficult to execute but well worth the effort. Refresh yourself with our peppermint sponge cake paired with a light peppermint frosting and then sprinkled with crushed peppermint hard candies.  

Eggnog *
Let’s face the facts, either you love eggnog or you hate it. Personally I hate eggnog – BUT for all of you who couldn’t live without it, this cupcake is your saving grace! Eggnog butter cake with a burst of eggnog filling and then swirled with fresh whipped cream. Eat as many as you’d like, really I don’t mind. (:

Champagne *
A champagne sponge cake topped off with a slightly sweet whipped champagne frosting and garnished with a champagne gummy. You can almost taste the bubbles!

Rose *
This cupcake was inspired by love & Lebanese rose water.  Entice your heart and your taste buds with our delicately flavored rose cake paired with our wild strawberry rose frosting. Come on, wake up and taste the roses!   

Mexican Hot Chocolate *
Warm up with our Mexican Hot Chocolate cupcake. Cocoa cake with impressions of cinnamon, chili powder, molasses & just a dash of
cayenne topped with our toasted marshmallow frosting. It’s sure to spice up your night!
